Foreign students with a bachelor's degree or higher will get a 1-year visa extension after graduation. This visa extension allows you to find a job in Thailand or relax after hard studies without the need to hurry out of the country when your visa nearly expires, take effect on 15 July 2024.

What is the visa?

  • Non Immigrant ED Plus Visa

Who is it for?

  • International students pursuing undergraduate and higher degrees in Thailand
  • Students with a Non-Immigrant Visa  ED

What are the benefits? 

  • Extend stay in Thailand for one year after graduation. Activities allowed during the extended stay: job searching, traveling, or other activities
  • Attract skilled and capable individuals to Thailand's labor market

What are the requirements?

  • You will need to get a Certification from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation if you intend to stay for more year after graduation.

What if I am employed in Thailand?

  • Contact the Department of Employment to apply for a work permit.
  • Contact the Immigration Office to change the visa purpose from education (Non-Immigrant ED) to work (Non-Immigrant B) without leaving Thailand.

How can I get an extension?

  • Contact your university to apply for an extension on your behalf.

Re-Entry Permit:

  • Students can depart and re-enter Thailand without a re-entry permit.
