Most owners are looking for a one year rental contract to have stability for themselves. A few may be talked down to 6 months. But rarely will anyone give a month-to-month agreement.

When you use AirBnB you get the chance to chose from a wide variety of condos in many areas. You can rent for a week at first to see if you like it, then later rent for a month at a time.

This gives you a way to experience the various neighborhoods in the city without a long term commitment.
